Land rover electric suv new Range Rover Sport will soon gain mild hybrid and plug-in hybrid variants. The mild hybrid versions of the SUV pair a turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-6 with a 48-volt battery pack. The range is estimated to be around 62 miles.
The PHEV will also use the same engine, but pair it with a 38.2-kWh battery that is 6 kWh less than the base model in the Volkswagen ID.3 hatchback.
In addition, the PHEV will use a 105-kW electric motor to deliver 434 hp and 619 pound-feet of torque. Its EV range is 62 miles, which is more than three times the outgoing model’s electric-only distance.
Its curved infotainment display is a huge improvement over the outgoing model’s flat panel. It has a more intuitive interface, features haptic feedback and is easier to operate than the hard buttons of its predecessor.
